It's arrived; Burberry Body sample!

I got in from a pretty dull day at work yesterday to some excitement in the form of the Burberry Body sample!  I had waited quite a while to receive this after signing up to it thanks to a heads up from http://fleurdeforce.blogspot.com/ and I was actually beginning to think it was a hoax and that I would never actually receive it. I am so dramatic.
I was also slightly disappointed that it was only a 4.5ml bottle rather than the 30ml that it said it would be but hey beggars can't be choosers =/ And the bottle is gorgeous, I would feel so classy whipping this out of my not so fancy Primarni bag and dabbing (there is a stopper rather than a spray pump) onto my wrists.
Now, for the smell.  Am not actually quite sure if my vocabulary shall allow me to describe a scent to you in its full glory so here goes. . . When I first sniffed this scent from the bottle all I could smell was sweet sophistication but once applied and allowed to settle it turns quite musky but it's right in the middle of sweet and musky so a bit like a musky peach? That actually sounds more like something rotting in the fruit bowl.  It is very long lasting and so far everyone that has had a sniff has enjoyed!  The smallest bottle which is 30ml actually retails at £45 so no wonder they didn't give us a 30ml body but I would definitely recommend that you go out and have a whiff of this new perfume because it is really beautiful and anything that makes you even slightly comparable to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has got to be good!

Let me know if you have any lush perfumes you could recommend to me because I'm becoming a bit of a perfume whore lately; 3 perfumes in one month? Must. Stop.

A cheeky little saturday shop!

This Saturday just gone I popped to the shops even though I really shouldn't have as it's nearing the end of the month (well in my pay roll anyways so more metaphorical than literal) and the pennies are waning :(
I really didn't purchase much; I limited myself to Boots and Superdrug which in hingsight is probably the worst idea possible, need I say more?  I got the Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner, Sleek Blush in Flushed, Sleek Sunset Pallette, QVC nail file, eye pencil sharpener and No7 Stay Perfect in Stand Back.
Now, I have big things to say for this nail polish!  My friend was wearing this the other day and the colour being so bright of course it didn't get past me and there I was expecting her to tell me it was OPI but alas it was No7! She then went on to tell me she had only used one coat and it really did look fabulous so I just had to go out and get myself some of this.  Also at Boots for the past couple of months, they have been giving out £5 off No7 vouchers willy nilly so this nail polish only cost me a couple of quid and boy do I love it!  I have never actually owned a bright blue polish before but this met all my needs and more ;)  I actually applied two coats just because I prefer it like that but I didn't use a base coat and when I took it off today my nails were a lovely tinged greeny blue colour, not so sexy . . . so definitely use a base coat with this badboy!

This is the Sleek Blush in Flushed, I've never owned a Sleek blush before but I have heard good things about them and I own the Bad Girl eye shadow pallette and I was very pleasently suprised by how pigmented all the colours were so I thought why not give it a go!  I picked up this one as it has red undertones and I don't (think) I've owned a blush with red undertones in it!  Haven't yet tried this on my actual cheeks but will probably try it with a look very soon so watch this space . . .

And this little beaut is the Sleek sunset pallette, wasn't too drawn in by the crazy random blue but I do have a couple of singular blue eyeshadows that it could work with and after all what would a sunset pallette be without a blue to represent the sky :) Am in love with the crimson shades which are very in this Autumn so look forward to an Autumn eye tutorial or even a sunset eye tutorial, how cliche ;)

Sunday 4 September 2011

Lets start at the very beginning. . .

Hey there everyone and welcome to my blog! That is me up there; albeit a much slimmer and fitter me back in Dec '10.  I have decided to start a blog, well obviously!  I have been debating starting up my own blog for a very long time but when my friend started one up a few months back, she totally inspired me to start up my own.  You can find my friend's blog at http://thepaperblonde.blogspot.com/, she is a total scream so you should definitely follow her :)
I am probably going to write mainly about beauty and fashion related tingalings but this won't stop me writing about anything else I feel passionate or interested in so I guess this will be more of an all round blog but who knows I haven't even got started yet . . .
I also film youtube videos which are also beauty related and if you are interested in watching me there you can find me at http://www.youtube.com/user/AnnieMACJ
Anyway I hope you enjoy having a butchers! xxx
